Hi everyone.. it's Chef Ethan here, teaching you how to cook..

today's receipe will be good for pasta lovers.. here is it:

Spaghetti Fungi With Prawns in Creamy Sauce

Ingredient that you will need:
1. Garlic
2. Spaghetti(Any Kind)
3. Sliced White Button Mushrooms(Prefer Fresh)
4. Prawns(without shell, with tail)(Prefer Fresh)
5. Whipping Cream(Refer To Picture)
6. Crushed Black Pepper
7. Chilli Flakes(For Chilli Lovers)
8. Chopped Parsley(Garnish)
9. Oil(Prefer Olive Oil)
10. Salt

Whipping Cream

Special Ingredient:

1. Love

Steps you have to take:
1. Boil a big pot of water. Once the water is boiling, put in the spaghetti, and add salt. This is to add flavour to the spaghetti. Cook the spaghetti until all of it is soft and cooked.

2. Drain the spaghetti, and add a bit of oil to prevent the spaghetti from sticking.

3. Heat up a pan with oil.

4. Once oil is heated up, put in the garlic. Cook it until fragrant.

5. Add in prawns. Stir well. Cook until the prawns are half cooked.

6. Add in the mushrooms. Stir well. Add a pinch of salt to season the prawns and mushroom. Stir well.

7. Turn down the fire. Pour in the estimated amount of cream, depend of the amount of spaghetti. Add in salt and black pepper. Add in chilli flakes if you want. Stir well.

8. Let the sauce boil and reduce to your desired thickness. This is to infuse the mushroom taste into the sauce, at the same time, making the sauce more creamy.

9. Once the sauce is thicken, put in the spaghetti and stir well. Serve the spaghetti hot. You may want to add chilli flakes. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notice that I didn't mention the adding of the special ingredient. Because it has to be always in your heart while you cook. It adds in extra flavour.

Normally, white wine is served to go along with creamy pasta. But instead, I recommend Sprite. Because it has the bubbly white taste.

for the past week, there was a number of quotes that came into my life..

"If you're not interested, please go.. but if you're not interested and don't go, the system will boot you out.."

this was spoken by my school's DM..

another quote that came in was from Chef Sam Leong..

"Sometimes, when you have reached a very high level of what you're doing, stop.. Stop and get back to your basic.. That's where you perfect yourself.. That's where you can improve yourself.. Get back to down to the bottom and to your basic.."

maybe some of you all out there may not know how i came to church and stuff.. just have the feeling to tell..

it was one day that my friend that brought me to church.. that time was at Amara Hotel, attending Rzone.. the Rzone that time wasn't like the Rzone now.. with so much events and stuff.. and when i was there, i knew my friend only.. anyway, i got to know Joey, Clinton and Bendict.. but i'm more attracted to my friend.. other than that, i would be alone in Rzone most of the time..

then as sudden as i came to know God, as sudden as my friend left church.. never to come back.. without any reason explained.. so there i am.. all alone in church.. with the 3 of them.. didn't really know them much.. then i went through Rzone alone..

from Amara to SCGS.. from SCGS to Yishun Ring Road.. most of the time was spent alone.. when the church has our own building, i got into the usher ministry through Iris.. so for the first time, i'm facing a lot of people from the crowd.. never think that i would meet people this way.. though i knew people from the ministry, i was the youngest in the ministry.. and still is.. very big age gap.. so ya.. felt lonely.. even until now..

sometimes, i feel that God wants me to build me up through loneliness.. but i know that being lonely all the time is not healthy.. never is.. never will be.. so i tried to make friends.. but whenever i finally made some progress, something would bound to happen and.. *sproof* that's the end of the friendship.. until i'm sick and tired of trying to make any more friends.. just wanted to be alone.. but i wasn't ready to give up.. but things happened really kills my encouraged spirit..

so now.. maybe.. it's better to be alone for a while.. maybe i will do that.. maybe i won't.. i don't know.. since so many people don't really like me..

so... i think i may just boot myself out of my own circle.. giving up on myself..

to all the students:

Jia you for your tests and exams.. Practice your maths.. revise your science and languages.. most importantly, depend on God and pray.. have faith and pray.. by praying is to unlock yourself to God.. Jia you.. all the best!

yesterday was a totally random day..

for me, yesterday's class was only 2 lessons.. because i had gone for some talk about life as a chef.. by 4 very well-known chefs.. 2 of them were always on the TV..

my day started with a lesson on IT.. how to use COMPUTER.. kinda boring.. then kind Kyla, gave me a message, asking me whether i need anything to eat.. so as usual, the aways-hungry guy, asked her to get me bread.. and then out of random, i asked her if she has anything on in the afternoon.. and also asked her for lunch.. so ya.. she agreed.. so after my class and hers, we went to the nearby coffeeshop, with her friend, to eat.. oh ya.. SHE DRIVES!!

after that, drove her friend back for class.. and then she offered to drive me to the place where the talk was.. Singapore Tourism Board, next to Tanglin Mall.. THANK YOU, KYLA!

the talk was 2 hours long.. thought it would be a very boring one, something like Mr. Jack Chan's lecture..(by the way, Mr. Jack Chan is one of my lecture, nickname: COCKROARCH) but it turned out to be a very interesting and funny time.. listening to the life stories of the 4 chefs, how they came into this job, their experiences and how they feel about everything.. and also, advise for the students..

something about the 4 chefs.. all of them started out as dishwashers.. started at 15.. left home at 15.. so...... is it that all chefs have to start out with washing dishes and have to leave home at 15? haha.. then i think i'm already overage!! haha.. but i can say is that all of them are really funny..

then after that, went dinner with Ton.. and random thought again.. 15 minutes before the movie started, we bought tickets for that movie..

"Superhero Movie" super funny!! it's a combination of _______ and _-___.. plus a lot more movies together.. (to know what are the blankes, watch it!)

making the props for Curry, Bolly, Sari was very interesting and at the same time, tiring.. because if you have seen Region A's stall, there were 3 boards of the same pattern.. or should i say.. continuous pattern.. and WE PAINTED THEM!! aching arms, backs, and necks.. and "The Most Hardworking People" have to be given out to.......

they have like been doing the props for like 2 to 3 days?! that's really torturing!!

let's talk about the Curry, Bolly, Sari event..

that nght was the night where we could how colourful India is.. colourful sari, delicious food, aromtic spices, interesting instrutments.. Pastor Lim was the special speaker of that night.. he challenged us to pray for India.. Powerful message indeed.. then the different categories(Best Dressed Individual, Best Dressed G12 Leader, Best Stall, Best Food, Best Region, Best MV) was then continued after the message.. all of us had a very good laugh at the category of Best MV! i tell you.. instead of being the Best MV, it should be the Most Laughter MV.. because all of us were like laughing at each other's MV, in the way we danced and what extreme stuff we did in the MV! Super funny can!!

after all the categories were over, it was the prize presentation for the winner..

after that, went to Hougang Mall that area to have supper cum dinner with Joyce, Nic, Hong Li, Alan, Karen, Richard.. after that, walked with Nic and Joyce to take 72.. and as usual, talking lots and lots of things, with my shoulder almost break because of the big bad that i was carrying..

then the next day was the North vs South Heart.Sport special..

there was Volleyball, Captain's Ball(ladies) and Street Soccer.. though South didn't really win much in the games, all of us had lots of fun playing the sports.. for me, it has been a long time since i last played volleyball.. and MY HANDS WERE LIKE RED AND SWOLLEN AFTER THE GAMES!! gosh.. having the feeling of breaking anytime.. after that, as usual, dinner, and then chatting with Nic on the way home.. i think that has becoming a norm.. anything under the sky.. when everyone said"Sky's the limit." so roughly, you can know that we talk about EVERYTHING!! And that Saturday, i found out things that i'm shocked to know.. i'm not telling.. for me to know and for you all to find out..

oh ya.. for the Soccer league.. Region A won Region C with 2 goals.. WHOA!! and this coming Saturday will be against Region D.. Jia You!!

oh ya.. i found out by accident.. that "Midori" is a name of a brand of liquor.. okay.. that's super RANDOM!!

i never knew that you would do what you have done.. say what you have said.. i'm really surprised and shocked..

and as for the group of people that had say things about me(you know who you are), i'm okay that you all said all that.. i'm just going to not care about what have been said.. I'M FREAKING DON'T CARE!! GET IT!?

sorry for the long break from blogging.. let's start from last Thursday..

Thursday(03/04/2008):
had my last practical exam back in school.. started at 12pm.. got my personal plates and mugs to school.. and when it's time to draw lots for my topic, i was so pissed and sad about the topic.. as the first few person in my group have chosen either salmon, seafood or sea bass, so i thought that those topic will be good for me.. but what i got was not really what i wanted.. the topic was....

BEEF!!!

i was like seriously freaked and pissed can.. the colour of the plates that i have got was almost the same colour as the meat.. so.. i have no choice but to work on it..

GRILLED BEEF WITH RED WINE SAUCE
ACCOMPANIED BY SPAGHETTI, AGLIO E OLIO STYLE
WITH WHITE BUTTON MUSHROOMS AND SLICED CAPSICUMS

the spaghetti turned out just nice and good.. with the mushrooms and capsicums but as for the sauce, instead of Red Wine sauce, it tasted more like the base sauce.. and for the beef, the doneness was just nice.. medium..

BEEF SIRLOIN: PASS (HOPEFULLY)
RED WINE SAUCE: FAIL (FOR SURE)
SPAGHETTI: PASS

and for the appretizer, it was....

ICE BERG LETTUCE LINED AROUND THE MUG

the idea of serving the salad came about while i was shopping for the plates at Ikea.. came across the mug.. it was a black mug, with the same colour saucer, and with red inside.. i was thinking that something white inside would bring out the red colour and the contents in the mug..

then after that, i have to rush down to Midori's place for rehearsal.. and guess what? it was like raining super heavy can! plus the the paper bag from Ikea and my own bag.. ad of course.. an umbrella.. so no choice.. took a cab with one of my classmates.. so it was like going to 2 places.. and guess how much was the fare? $37!! first time in my life did i ever came across such an eexpensive fare from cab.. the last time that i had an expensive fare was like $25, but that was because of the midnight charge, from Yishun to Tampines.. so ya.. but $37?? super expensive can!!

that night's rehearsal, to me, was a energy drainer.. i was like having headache and was like brain fried after the exam.. but still forced myself to learn the dance steps.. but thank God.. still managed to get the steps right..

Friday(04/04/2008):
Hearts On Fire was screening a film.. about a pastor during the Adolf Hilter time.. World War I and II.. some kind of a history recap for me.. and history really makes people sleep soundly.. it has been tested and proved by... NIC!! because during the screening, she was like sleeping super soundly can.. and all of us were like laughing at the way she was sleeping.. head falling down.. so.. those who have sleeping problem, try history books and films!! corfirm sleep!!

Saturday(05/04/2008):
first day of filming for the MV.. woke up at like 6.. met Joyce and Hong Li at Tampines interchage.. then on our way to Kembangan.. everything went well for the filming.. and also, a number of the public even stopped and looked at us, dancing.. but i can say.. i like every minute of it!!

then Heart.Sport.. Soccer League.. this time, no David.. he's playing tennis.. and guess what? we won the game by one goal.. Thank and Praise God!!
after that, went to Popeye's at T3 with Joyce and Germaine..

Sunday(06/04/2008):
second day of the filming.. hardcore dancing!! with costume and makeup(for ladies only).. went to Bishun Park(is it?) to film.. hot.. sweaty.. and thirsty!! but..... FUN!! when we make mistakes, all of us were like laughing about it.. after everything, went to the nearby Mac to eat our dinner.. and guess what? i miss all the dancing rehearsals and the dances.. really.. kinda funny.. but it's true..

Monday to Wednesday(07/04 ~09/04/2008):
new school term started.. and all my teachers were changed.. so have to adapt to their teaching methods and even their rules in class.. mos of my lessons are like Accounts and Maths based.. i like Maths.. but not to the extent that almost every subjects are Maths based or number dealing subjects.. tiring and brain frying!!!

during one of the lessons, the lecturer was like using the Overhead Projector to flash her points up.. and then we heard a funny noise.. it came from the OHP!! it sounded like propellers of the plane turning.. so the lecturer wass like saying: "I think our Boeing 747 is going land.. And that everyone.. Please fasten your seat belt.." we were like stoned and then suddnely laughed at the cold joke..

JIA YOU!! 2 more days to WEEKEND!!

today was like a break in the holidays for me.. a day to rest and enjoy my time with myself..

so i went to NTU to eat lunch with Ton.. yes.. NTU.. Nanyang Tech. Uni.. since he's working there and i'm so free, so why not going there to eat.. the food there was not bad..

then after that, i went Vivocity Daiso to find plates for tomorrow's exam.. black plates.. that can bring out the food in the plate.. after an hour in that store, it seems as if a fail mission to find any.. so i moved on to Ikea at Tampines.. Thank and Praise God!! i found plates and mugs that are suitable.. so ya.. plus a green pillow for myself! soft and green!! haha.. and comfortable too!!

i can say that i feel nothing about the exam tomorrow.. though i have bought plates and mugs for it, but feeling wise.. numb.. very numb.. feel very abnormal for a student.. very weird.. maybe i'm confident.. maybe the numbness is to cover up my not-confidence.. i don't know.. just feeling confused and numb.. haiz..

God.. help me...

hope tomorrow's rehearsal will be fun.. and an enjoyable one..

yesterday was a very tiring day..but at the same time, fun.. very fun..

in the morning, went for a swim.. it's like a week plus since i last swam.. the feeling was like very nice!! with lots of water surrounding you, it's like you're reunited with the water which is your home.. didn't really swim much(around 4 laps) then the rest of the time was spent soaking myself, with the sun shining high.. taking away the tiredness, ready for the rest of the day..

after that, went home and had breakfast with my family.. that was okay..

then around 4 plus, played baketball at Kembangan.. never knew that there is a open space basketball court.. so ya.. played with Joyce, then later Nic joined.. had dinner.. and to Midori's place..

here's the highlight of the day..
THE REHEARSAL!!

we have to learn 1 more set of dances(which is totally too feminine in some part) but we still learn it.. and guess what? i can't stop dancing!! haha.. because there is one dance step that you have to coordinate your legs sticking out, at the same time, snapping your fingers, and hop.. everyone was like having problems with it.. but for me? i just started to dance everything at one go.. haha.. then ever since then, i couldn't stop hopping around with that move.. everyone was like laughing and joking around, trying to figure out how to do that moves.. and i noticed some.. my virus of CRAZYNESS can spread very fast.. whenever i started hopping that step, Nic will start doing the same step over and over again, and laughing to herself.. and then next person, Midori.. she also would start to hop around.. haha.. and then everybody was like laughing lots.. with the 3 of us(me, Nic, Midori) hopping around.. the rehearsal was like a full body workout.. hands, legs, everything.. was used up.. haha.. but after that, we went home like super tired.. after all the dancing and laughing..

tomorrow will be my practical exam.. at 12noon.. please pray for me.. last practical exam.. don't even know what will i pick for the topic.. beef? chicken? lamb? Seafood? i don't know..

then today i will be looking for some plates to be used tomorrow.. so ya.. JIA YOU!
