Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars - points of light and reason. And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over horizon, everything went black. The Clouds are to be BLAMED!!

why do i say that? it's all back to Chinese New Year day 1.. oh ya..

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

as some of you all knows(i think only 2 of you knows)why i don't make visitations during CNY.. whos says that i don't like ang pow?? i need the money somehow to survive.. haha.. so on DAY 1, i was having no plans with anyone.. well.. everyone's busy visiting relatives and collect ang pows.. so left me alone.. sob sob.. so back to the story.. so that day, i went to the Singapore Science Centre.. actually i heard about the partially Solar Eclipse a few days before the day comes on TV.. so i was thinking of going to have some "self" fun there..

it's been a few years since i last visited the Science Centre(too long to remember).. anyway, i reached there super early.. oh, by the way, i'm not really like a typical Singaporean who loves to reach early so that can get first or whatever.. actually it's my dad's idea and it's him who drove me there early.. so ya.. back to the story.. there wasn't any barrier set up to indicate for the flow of the queue.. so you can imagine how EARLY i was.. so i asked the staff there, for th time to queue up.. he said 4.30pm.. so i went to a nearby cafe in the science centre.. to cut the story short, i had something at the cafe, and as i was sitting in the cafe, i was wondering why is there a long queue? and it's only 3pm.. "that queue is to enter into the Observatory" then i was like thinking, "Why people has already queued up when you said that queueing starts at 4.30pm?" so in the end, i went all the way to the back to queue..

as i was waiting in the queue, i was disgusted with the people in the queue, especially the Chinese.. behind along the queue was a little kid, waiting for his turn.. so as he was waiting, his father and brother just cut into the queue..and then after a while, the 3 of them went out of the queue, but didn't inform any one in the queue.. so normally, you would just close up the gap.. when the 3 of them came back, they were like wanting to cut back into the line.. and cut in they did, just in front for the Chinese People.. so to cut the story short again,they got back into the line.. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 1

when it was time for me to use the telescope for 30 SECONDS(which also practically means i haven't really using it for long), it was 4.30pm, where the moon was still quite a distance away from the sun.. DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 2

so at 4.30, the moon was still quite far away to the sun..

at 5pm, the moon was slightly nearer..

at 5.20, the moon was covering half of the sun...
the pictures are taken by my phone.. and it was blocked by a sheet of protective lens provided by the Science Centre on glasses for you to wear to watch the Partially Solar Eclipse..

because of the clouds that came covering the sun at 5.35pm, i couldn't see the eclipse happened at 5.49pm.. at that point of time, i was really disappointed, putting the blame on everything that could have contribute to the cause..DISAPPOINTMENT NUMBER 3

but to think of it, all of those are God's creations, and blaming them is equals to blaming God.. so ya.. God's will for not letting me watch the eclipse..

after that, went home and while i was at the top-up machine, i was queueing up(again!) to top up(of course!) my ez link card.. in front of me was 2 _____ guys(i will not be RACIST!).. somehow, they don't know how to use the machine.. they tried like 5 to 6 times(argh!!) before they asked me for help.. and at this moment, 1 more _____ guy(again, i will NOT be RACIST!) just banged through to the 2 guys in front of me, cutting my queue.. then after the 2 guys, HE USED THE MACHINE!! WHAT THE CRAP!! and somemore, the 2 guys don't know him!! haiz.. probably i'm destined to be cut-queued by people in my lifetime.. haiz..

yesterday went to PS for dinner and also got myself 2 books which were written by a local author.. the books' titles are "I Believe You" and "To Forget You".. they are like love stories.. the storyline is quite predictable, but once in a while reading these type of stories touches your heart.. very sweet lines.. and i cried reading one of the books.. someone thinks that i'm too emotional when reading these kind of books.. so ya..

watching movies at the comfort of your own home is always the best.. because the fact that you can just pause the movie before the most exciting part while you goes for a toilet break, or a search for snacks, or even better, fixing yourself a meal.. and why is it good watching movies at home? becaue you don't need to purchase any tickets and long gone with the queues, and that you can eat ANYTHING you want while watching the movie, without people telling you "Sir, you cannot bring that it.." and stuff..

well.. that's cons to that too.. bad sound quality.. small screen.. or even nagging mum asking you to do this and that every 5 minutes..

that's what i did yesterday - my first off day for this week

i have watched like 3 shows - Band Of Brothers ep.4(Band Of Brothers has 10), Blood Diamond and The Chonicles Of Narnia.. but the show that impacted me the most was Blood Diamond

Blood Diamond, acted by Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Connelly, talks about the conflict in the search for diamonds. those diamonds found are called Conflict Diamonds or Blood Diamonds. R.U.F.(Revolutionary United Front), a rebel group, formed in Sierra Leone are usually because of these kinds of diamonds, and that they will raid villages, killing people to prevent them to vote for their government(R.U.F thinks that THEY ARE THE GOVERNMENT who protect the people), and also at the same time, recruiting people to mine in diamond mines and to capture children to join their groups and turn them into "CHILD SOLDIERS".

there is other people like the character Leonardo Dicaprio acts in, as Danny Archer, a ex-mercenary from Zimbabwe, working for the sides of the Army, to get hope of all these diamonds from R.U.F., and export them illegally to buyers all over the world so that the money can be funds for the R.U.F. to buy weapons and ammunitions, and equipments. until one day, a fisherman, who was captured by R.U.F., found a largest piece of diamond while mining, and hid it somewhere. from there, the movie starts becuse that diamond can fetch a very high price.

till today, Conflict diamonds are still mined and sold to the markets to buyers.. and this diamonds are mixed with the real diamonds that are mined legally to be made into rings and necklaces.. and Child Soldiers still exist in Sierra Leone.. 200,000 in total..

having 2 days off is nice.. but you have to think what to do.. well.. for me, today will be the day where i head to SCGS for HEART.SPORTS! SOCCER!! missed the first match last week.. heard that they won the match by a goal - 2-1

People just don't believe and trust what i said about myself..

once they asked me : "Can you go do a function on a boat?" and my answer was : "No.. i have SEA SICK.." and they don't believe me.. i was referring to my chef that i'm working for now.. until they saw it for themselves last Saturday..

it was the last day of the teams from the Volvo Ocean Race to have their last preparation and last gathering before they can meet their family members and friends for another 4 weeks or more as they are to sail out on Sunday afternoon.. so there was a function, more to a gathering, a standing pub style on a floating platform.. yes, you heard it right.. A FLOATING PLATFORM.. on water.. a platform that goes up and down.. like a boat.. my chef asked me that question when i first went to their department.. and that was my answer.. so on Saturday itself, he asked me whether i can take a floating platform, which i said that i couldn't.. but insisted he was, asking me to work overtime on a floating platform with them, providing burgers and hot dogs for the sailors.. and when we first arrived at the platform, it wasn't so bad.. but as the sun sets and the crowd got larger and larger, and that the platform is REALLY starting to "FLOAT", i begun to show my "Drunkard Fist stance", which is walking unstable-ly around, topping up the food.. as i went back to the BBQ station, they were like asking : "Are you okay?" Am i okay? of course i'm not.. told all of you before.. I HAVE SEA SICK!! and you don't believe me.. fine.. plus no dinner.. or should i say.. only had a light breakfast for the whole entire day.. so that makes it worse.. but thank to be God, who helped me to control so that i don't vomit..

i have never see Sentosa Cove so lively before for the past 6 months.. but it was really crowded with dance, music, singing and feasting.. colourful lights shining around..

and i have JUST received news that i have to go work tomorrow, which is my off day.. because i have to relieve one of the chefs who just took a MC tomorrow.. and that the assistant Head chef don't really trust the trainee attracted to that departement.. just for your information, i'm a trainee too..

i will end my entry here..

the movie "Red Cliff 2" was really a good show, with very good effects, exploding, fighting scenes, and very nice propes such as lots of ships in ancient China design, and buildings.. it was based on the ancient history of China during the warring time, also normally known as the 3 Kingdoms..

and my modem is back to working condition!! so no more walking to Macs to use free wireless connection!! :D

guess today was the only time that i really have the time to even blog.. since today was my off day for the new week.. and yesterday was the off day for last week.. so correct, you have guessed it correctly.. i had 2 off days back to back - Sunday and Monday.. so let me talk about the past week..

i never know that working in a canteen was such hard work.. and you have see and heard it correctly.. me, a trainee, working in the club's staff canteen.. and for those who have a staff canteen at their workplace, sometimes, we may just take the canteen aunties and uncles for granted.. in a sense that we might have requested for some stupid stuff such as : "Can i have the vegetables from the fish curry, but i don't want the fish?" or "Can i have more tou ya(beansprout) but not the salted fish?" etc.. well.. i have seen those coming for the past week.. i tell you.. those requests can be very irriating, especially when there are a lot of people behind the queue, waiting for their turn to get their hands on the food after a long(actually, not really long) hard morning, and for most people, without any breakfast in the morning.. so the pressure is there to serve them the food as soon as possible..

and then for some, they will come to the canteen and do "survey" for the rest of the gang in the office.. as in checking out the food without tasting and queueing.. just standing outside of the canteen and peeking through the glass window, seeing what is served and judge "visually".. and then handing up their reconnaissance report to the people back in the office.. or some, even worse, straight in your face, saying : "Why is the food like that??!!" etc.. so there are different kinds of people in the club.. but i still have to smile at them, making sure that they have enough food for everyone, and that their lunch would be a enjoyable one(i hope)..

then comes the Volvo Ocean Race.. you see it on the TV, advertising and even have a show about the journey that the sailors have went through.. and yes, it's at my workplace.. in case you don't know, i'm working at ONE degree 15 Marina Club, the club that is in charge on the race, the club that provided the docking place for the sailing boats.. and because of that, the sales department used this opportunity to "kill" the people in the kitchen.. let me explain..

as you all know, the economy isn't that good after the fall of the Lehman Brothers, and a few more banks in the US.. so sales have been really bad in the club.. and that includes the restaurant.. then came the race.. and because of that, the organisers from the race tend to have book conference rooms from the club.. but it was late to do so.. but our "CLEVER" sales department, despite of the last minute, accpeted the booking, and that includes all 3 meals, last minute.. so everything wasn't prepared.. and there.. the crazy running for ingredients and cooking starts.. making everybody crazy and angry.. so who's at fault? haiz..

and the soccer season starts in Evangel Family Church.. the yearly affair.. and this time, they have increased the number of matches from 5 games to 8 games! super cool!! but i don't really know whether i can play for Region A a not since ya.. the race.. haiz.. hope i can clear my off days on Saturdays..

the worse thing that happened at home was that my modem has broke down!! ARGH!! no internet, no Facebook, NO MSN!! SUCKS!! but now i'm using the wireless at Coffee Bean to write this long entry.. before the movie Red Cliff 2! heard from people that it is a very nice show, continue-ing from Part 1.. the show is about the warring time of the 3 Kingdoms from China..

okay.. i think i shall end here.. time to collect the ticket!

sorry for the long absense.. super busy during the Christmas season and the few days before and after New Year Day.. so now, writing a summary of all the things that had happened..

1. I watched Twilight 2 times(ALICE!!)
2. I worked a total of 26 hours of OT in the month of December and the first week of the Janaury(TIRING..)
3. Watched Fireworks on New Year's Day after work(NICE!)
4. Slept only 3 hours after the fireworks' night and woke up and went to work, plus OT(SUPER TIRED!!)
5. Transferred to another department yesterday, to the chef that I don't really like(SUCKS!!)
6. Had a MC last Saturday and a Off Day on Sunday(SUPER COOL!)
7. Finally played basketball after a super long break(FUN!!)
8. Having sore muscles the next day(PAIN!!)
9. Work starts from 11am and ends at 7pm everyday for this week(COOL!)
10. Working in the cafeteria for this week(SUPER BORING!!)
11. Hoping that won't miss any service this week(PRAYING)
12. Haven't really open all the Christmas presents(SOBBING..)
13. Probably having another Sunday off this week(SUPER COOL!!!)

all that ends the summay for the past 3 weeks..
