Dear Diary..

last night, i have learnt how to keep quiet when i'm not for me to speak.. and also just to stand back and do nothing if it's not your duty.. it's so not me, but i have to learnt it..

and i have also learnt that to keep my cool when things don't go well.. because when things don't go well and you panic, you cannot think properly and in turn, make things worse..

it was the start of another 5 weeks of training at the school hotel.. morning and afternoon shift..

cooking dinner for the staff was not bad today.. somehow, the food was nice.. so everything was good..

but after that, left knee started to hurt again.. so i asked to go home early.. so here am i, at home early..

sorry for the long absence..

for the past 2 weeks, there have been happy moments, sad moments, angry ones, upset too..

remember about the project that i have to do? the one that i have to sell my own menu... the project didn't really go well.. the food sucks.. (sorry for the people that i have asked to come) my leader sucks..(not only me who says that) and i think my group people really hates me now, because i didn't go for like 2 days out of the 4 days of the projects.. well.. all i can say is that i don't really ask for much result.. but just a pass will do.. don't really want to think about it anymore..

Valentine's Day was a great and wonderful day.. cooked for you.. made something out for the special day.. and gave something special.. and in return, i received something that made me cry and very touched for like the rest of the week.. it's really big.. but i'm really very blessed to have it.. because people keep on asking me who is it from.. and the content.. *claps* really showed the effort put in.. really blessed to receive it.. especially from you.. THANK YOU!! :)

the following Saturday, went to play for the East despite the really bad headache.. well.. didn't go very well.. controlled myself from fighting.. and we lost..

the following Monday, was working for Grand Hyatt Singapore for the Singapore AirShow.. went there to do some catering for them.. and also.. free entry to the event itself.. saw really a lot of planes and fighter jets.. especially the performance by the Black Knights.. they are so cool.. flying the fighter jets, doing all the stuns.. and the patterns.. *claps* really very nice.. there's this pattern that they did.. it was a heart.. then an arrow across.. the cupid's arrow.. very nice!!

how to cook rice.....

cooking rice, though it's easy, but to cook soft and fragant rice, needs a lot of skill.. this receipe uses stove to cook..

steps:
1. wash the rice. drain it, not completely dry.
2. pour in the rice into a pot.
3. add in a dash of olive oil. mix well.
4. pour in water, just enough to cover the rice. let the rice soak for 20 minutes.
5. after 20 minutes, add in water, this time, until a level above the rice.
6. cook the rice with high fire.
7. cook with high fire until the rice boil. lower to medium fire.
8. when the rice is about to cook, mix the rice well. lower fire to low. this is to let the heat from the low fire evaporate the remaining moisture.
9. the rice is ready when the water has evaporated.


remember.. while cooking this rice, it must be cooked with love.. so i called this rice...

those who are reading my blog.. i need all of your support.. there are changes to the dates for the event...

i will be having this school event from the 13 of February to the 16 of February.. it will be like a fine dinning kind of setting.. but you don't have to wear like suit and stuff.. casual wear will do.. i will be coming out with a menu for this event.. and of course, i will be cooking.. so somehow, you can taste my cooking.. it will be a 5 course meal, $28, serving at dinner time (6.30pm - 9.30pm) the last order will be at 9.30pm.. the venue will be at Sha villa, at Somerset.. it's just a walking distance from Somerset MRT station..
